Cheshire resident Pat Field began his journey across the country six weeks and today, after 4,000 miles, he returns to Connecticut.
Field, along with his partner Dan Beauvais.
The two began their journey back in early June, when they flew out to San Francisco with a few supplies, their bicycles, and a desire to see the nation from the open road. The trip, sponsored each year by the UConn School of Medicine, is done to raise money and awareness for the Lea's Foundation for Leukemia Research.
The riders visited several key sites along their journey, from Yellowstone National Park to Chicago and they will end their journey this evening at the UConn Health Center in Farmington.
The pair are expected to arrive at approximately 6 p.m. where family and friends will be on hand to greet them.
