Bailey Makes Collegiate B-Ball Decision

July 18, 2013 by Greg Lederer

Cheshire High School senior point guard Missy Bailey has verbally committed to accept full scholarship for basketball at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H. In her first three seasons, Bailey received All-Housatonic Division and New Haven Tap-Off Club Honoree. She has been team MVP in the last two seasons and was named All-Class LL Second Team as a junior.
Bailey will join classmates Lily Dolyak and Bryanna McIntosh as senior captains this winter. Cheshire went 9-12 last season, winning a third straight Housatonic title. They lost 56-50 against host Darien in the Class LL First Round.
Bailey, who plays for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Connecticut Starters, will be coached by Jennifer Leedham at Franklin Pierce. Leedham, along with her younger sisters Johannah and Kirsty, all starred at Cheshire Academy. Read about Bailey's college decision in this week's issue of The Cheshire Herald.
