Harold Loren Kreidel, age 92, of Cheshire, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Masonic Care Center in Wallingford after a long illness. He was born on Oct. 24, 1920 in Waterbury to Max and Adele Kreidel and was husband to the late Shirley Collins Kreidel. Harry served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was an electrical engineer and field test supervisor for CL&P/NE Utilities until his retirement. He was a long-standing brother of the Mason Temple Lodge #16. Besides spending time with his children and grandchildren, Harry loved hunting, skiing, traveling with Shirley and working in his woodshop. Harry leaves a son, Ned Kreidel of Guilford, Conn., and three daughters, Carol Correia of Milford, Conn., Lauren Knowlton of Prospect, Conn. and Janet Phillips of Sanbornville, N.H; also five grandchildren, Shaun and Kayla Kreidel, Evan Knowlton, and Riley and Aidan Phillips. He was predeceased by his brothers Fred, Dick, and Eddie, and by his granddaughter Abbie Knowlton.
There will be no calling hours. The family will hold a private burial and service. Friends and family can leave memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
