Boys' Lacrosse Dominates In Hamden To Make State Tournament, Class Pairings Released

Cheshire High School boys' lacrosse earned a 16-3 victory at Hamden (16th; 8-9) to qualify for the Class L Tournament. CHS had a 9-2 halftime advantage. Senior Tom Dupont (two assists) had five goals, while classmate Chris Trasacco (assist) added four goals. Junior Matt Samuelson recorded a hat trick. Sophomore Matt Blois supplied two goals. Senior Jack Naramore and sophomore Zach Winch chipped in goals. Naramore hadn't scored before.
Sophomore Jack Cunningham posted three assists. CHS received assists from senior Tim Covel and sophomore Christian Russo.
Junior goalkeepers, Jared Lawson (13) and Joey Solla (two), combined for 15 saves.
The Rams visit top-seeded Ridgefield (14-2) for Wednesday's First Round at 4:30 p.m.
The following teams learned of Class tournament seeding today:
Softball (11th; 15-6)
Cheshire hosts Simsbury (22nd; 10-8) in Tuesday's Class LL First Round at 4 p.m.
Girls' Tennis (15th; 14-5)
The Lady Rams host Conard (18th; 10-6) in Saturday's Class L qualifier at North Haven Health and Racquet. Start time is 1 p.m. The winner visits last year's runner-up, Greenwich (second; 15-1), for Tuesday's First Round at 3 p.m.
Baseball (30th; 8-12)
The Rams travel to Greenwich (third; 17-3) for Tuesday's First Round at 3:30 p.m. Like girls' tennis, baseball has returned to the state tournament after a year hiatus.
Boys' Volleyball (sixth; 15-5)
The two-time defending Class L Champions host South Windsor (11th; 10-6) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The winner visits Staples (third; 16-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
