Tuesday's SCC Tournament Overview

Cheshire High School opens four Southern Connecticut Conference Tournaments on Tuesday:
Girls' Lacrosse (13-3; 10-0 in SCC)
The Lady Rams defended their SCC regular season title and have the top tournament seed again. Cheshire plays fourth-seeded Branford (8-8) in the first semifinal at Hamden. Start time is 4 p.m. CHS won on April 11 (18-8) and 26 (10-6). Daniel Hand (second; 8-8) and Guilford (third; 8-7) meet in the second semi at 6 p.m. Winners advance to West Haven for Thursday's final at 5 p.m. CHS is the two-time defending champion.
Girls' Tennis (11-5; 7-0)
Cheshire won the SCC Division II regular season and have the top seed for the inaugural tournament. After a bye in Monday's quarterfinals, Cheshire faces Lyman Hall (fourth; 10-8) at Yale University courts. Start time is 4 p.m. CHS beat Lyman Hall 6-1 May 3. Lyman Hall beat Jonathan Law (fifth; 8-13) 4-3 on Monday.
Yale hosts Wednesday's final at 3:30 p.m.
Boys' Volleyball (13-4; 7-1)
CHS clinched their fifth straight SCC regular season title, securing the top seed. They host Shelton (fourth; 5-13) in their semifinal at 6 p.m. Cheshire swept them on April 8 and 29. Evan Colechia (captain), Zhihan Zou (captain), Beau Bartone, Ben Gallo, Scott Romano, and Lucas Yasuda will have Senior Night. Xavier (second; 11-6) and Amity (12-6) meet in the other semifinal at 5 p.m. The highest seed hosts Thursday's final at 6 p.m. Cheshire is the two-time defending champion.
Softball (15-5; 6-2 in Housatonic Division)
The Lady Rams, winners of five straight, are seeded fifth in their tournament. They visit Housatonic Champion Amity (15-5; 8-0) for a quarterfinal at 4 p.m. Amity, seeded fourth, won on April 15 (7-3) and May 6 (5-3).
Tuesday's golf schedule:
Boys (15-3; Housatonic Champion at 7-1)
The Rams host Daniel Hand to end the regular season at the Southington Country Club. Start time is 2:30 p.m. Cheshire has won five in a row.
Girls (15-4-1)
CHS visits Oronoque Country Club to play host Bunnell at 3:30 p.m.
