Cheshire High School softball (11-5; 5-2 in Housatonic Division) won 10-2 on Thursday at Shelton (5-11; 3-4), their second win over the Gaelettes this season. A six-run third inning contributed to a 10-0 advantage. Senior Kierstyn Bourdeau had three RBIs. Junior Bryanna McIntosh (three runs) joined her with two hits.
With doubles, senior Lauren Fountain and junior Alexa DiLeo collected two RBIs.
Senior Nicole D’Amato struck out nine in six innings. She yielded just one hit, along with five walks and two hit by pitches. Victoria D'Amato, her sophomore sister, entered in the seventh and recorded a strikeout.
The Lady Rams host Lyman Hall (4-11; 0-6) on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Senior Day for Nicole D'Amato (captain), Lauren Fountain (captain), Kierstyn Bourdeau, Erin Donnarumma, and Kathryn Vitale will be held at approximately 4:15 p.m. Cheshire earned a 13-0 win on April 19 at Lyman Hall.
Boys' Golf (11-3; 5-1)
Led by senior medalist Eric Dietrich (37), Cheshire defeated Amity 156-162 to even the series. The teams are tied for first in the division. Junior Jake Ecke (38), senior Mike Stanton (39), and junior Tom Arisco (40) followed Dietrich.
On Tuesday, CHS plays host Lyman Hall at the Wallingford Country Club. Start time is 2:30 p.m.
Girls' Lacrosse (11-3)
Cheshire beat Amity (3-10) 19-6, leading 13-3 at halftime. CHS received four goals and two assists from seniors Alison Hoynes and Christy Myjak. Junior Danielle Chambrelli joined seniors Kathleen Kalbian and Nicole Stauffer with two goals and an assist. Cheshire utilized a goal and assist from both juniors Emma Farrel and Maddy Levy. Classmate Michelle Federico chipped in a goal.
Senior Lauren Como and junior Taylor Bond scored for the first time. Como also added her first two assists. Sophomores Natalie Bigler and Emma Gaudio hadn't assisted before this game. Sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Carbone compiled seven saves.
The Lady Rams return to action next Thursday when they look to defend their Southern Connecticut Conference regular season title at Daniel Hand (7-5). Start time is 7 p.m. Cheshire won the first meeting 16-9 on May 2.
Boys' Volleyball (10-3)
In their third consecutive five-game match, Cheshire outlasted host Maloney 3-2. Game scores: 25-14, 25-16, 21-25, 22-25, 15-13. Cheshire swept the series. Senior Scott Romano (14 digs) and junior Ted Li (nine kills) had career-high totals. Li also added 27 assists and five digs. Senior Ben Gallo contributed three blocks and seven kills.
The Rams host Daniel Hand (5-9) on Friday at 6 p.m. CHS swept them 3-0 on April 19.
Girls' Golf (12-3; 7-2 in Southern Connecticut Girls' Golf League)
The Lady Rams (217) defeated host Canton (231) and lost against Northwest Catholic (194) at Tower Ridge Golf Course. Senior Andra Frappier shot a 43. Classmates Emily Larkin (57), Megan Robles (58), and Maggie Kulpa (59) competed.
On Wednesday, Cheshire visits Orange Hills Country Club to face Greenwich, Woodstock Academy, and host Avon at 12:30 p.m.

Cheshire wraps up the division slate at Lyman Hall (1-13; 0-6) at 3:45. CHS beat them 14-2 on April 19.
Boys' Lacrosse (6-7)
Cheshire hosts Branford (6-6) in Friday's Senior Night at 7 p.m. Tim Covel (captain), Tom Dupont (captain), Dan Brennan, Chris Capone, Anthony Delbuono, Nick Graikoski, John Klemenz, Jack Naramore, Erik Pierson, Tyler Sheehan, and Chris Trasacco will be recognized. Sophomore Christian Russo will also celebrate his birthday.
