Cheshire High School baseball (6-7; 1-4 in Housatonic Division) beat Daniel Hand (7-7) 14-1 on Saturday. After Hand scored first in the first inning, CHS answered with eight in the bottom half. Seniors Kevin Mirando (two walks and RBIs) and sophomore Cooper Mrowka (RBI) both had two hits and runs scored. Junior Alex Augusto posted two hits, three RBIs, and scored a run. Classmates Ethan Lonardelli (three walks) and Wes Robertson (double) came home twice. Senior Kyle Hodgdon (walk), juniors Dan Schock (RBI triple, walk) and Kyle Waldron (RBI, walk), junior Paul Bronke (single), sophomore Adam vonFischer (single), and Richie Mills (walk) also scored. Junior Matt Hickey and freshman Tommy Savino (single) added RBIs.
Lonardelli fired four strikeouts in starting the first five innings. He allowed five hits and a walk. Senior Zach Goul gave up two hits and struck out two in the sixth. In the seventh, Waldron surrendered a hit and tallied three strikeouts.
Cheshire travels to Orange's Old Tavern Road Complex on Monday to play host Amity (12-2; 5-1) at 7 p.m. Amity won the first meeting 8-3 on April 15.
Girls' Lacrosse (10-2)
CHS ended their nine-game win streak in an 11-7 loss against unbeaten Glastonbury (10-0), who took a 6-2 advantage into halftime. Junior Emma Farrel netted a hat trick. Senior Christy Myjak posted two goals. Cheshire also received goals from senior Nicole Stauffer (two assists) and junior Maddy Levy. Senior Alison Hoynes collected an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Carbone garnered five saves.
The Lady Rams host Simsbury on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Captains Lauren Como, Alison Hoynes, Kathleen Kalbian, and Christy Myjak, along with Emily Dooley, Nicole Stauffer, and Maddie Tenenbaum will be honored on Senior Night
Boys' Lacrosse (5-7)
Cheshire lost 15-5 at Glastonbury (7-5). Senior Chris Trasacco netted two goals. Seniors Tom Dupont (goal) and John Klemenz assisted goals. Junior Matt Samuelson and sophomore Zach Winch also scored. Junior goalkeeper Jared Lawson had 16 saves.
The Rams visit Notre Dame-West Haven (5-6) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
