Board Of Ed To Showcase High School Math

May 2, 2013 by John Rook

The Board of Education will meet tonight at Cheshire High School tonight to showcase the school's programs.
The focus of this evening will be on the math department and the different ways educators are engaging their students.
"Throughout the course of the 2012‐13 school year, we have focused on creating new and exciting ways to not only engage our students, but increase student understanding. Our presentation will highlight three such examples. The flipped classroom has been a vehicle which engages and educates while transforming the traditional classroom experience. Cheshire High School has also used video technology to provide students the opportunity to apply math to authentic problems in engaging ways. Finally, we will share an exciting application with the Board which allows us to assess students and quickly change instruction to meet their needs," read a statement released by the Board of Ed.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the CHS Library, 525 South Main Street.
