CHS Girls' Golf Continues Unbeaten Season, Boys' Volleyball And Lacrosse Win

Cheshire (7-0) remained unbeaten by defeating Newington 184-210 with a team of seniors. Andra Frappier was the medalist at 38. Emily Larkin posted a 44, while Megan Robles and Maggie Kulpa both shot 51. Molly Pritchard added a 56.
On Tuesday, the Lady Rams play Simsbury and host Avon at Blue Fox Run. Start time: 3 p.m.
Boys' Lacrosse (3-5)
Cheshire beat Northwest Catholic (1-6) 13-4. The game was tied 2-2 headed to the second quarter, but Cheshire scored the final seven goals before halftime. Senior Tom Dupont had four goals and an assist. Junior Matt Rougeot supplied a hat trick, while sophomore Matt Blois put in two goals and chipped in an assist. Seniors Chris Trasacco (three assists) and Tim Covel, junior Matt Samuelson (assist), and sophomore Zach Winch added goals. Covel and Winch hadn't previously scored in a varsity game. Senior John Klemenz supplied an assist.
Junior goalkeeper Jared Lawson came up with 22 saves.
The Rams host Conard (4-3) on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Boys' Volleyball (7-2)
Cheshire defeated Xavier (7-2) 3-1. Game scores: 25-15, 17-25, 25-13, 25-22. Senior Evan Colechia had 23 kills (personal-best). Junior Ted Li posted 24 assists, five digs, and four kills and service aces. Seniors Lucas Yasuda (six kills, seven blocks) and Ben Gallo (five kills, two aces) also contributed. It was the first time that CHS and Xavier had played since 2012 Southern Connecticut Conference final.
Cheshire visits Shelton on Monday at 7 p.m. CHS won the home opener 3-1 on April 8.

Girls' Outdoor Track And Field (127 points)
CHS won their Cheshire Little 'C' Invite. Freshman Janaia Skibitcky claimed the long jump in 15 feet and eight inches.

The Lady Seek to end a four-game skid against Hillhouse/Career at 3:45 p.m.
Boys' Tennis (5-4)
Cheshire aims for their sixth straight win at Joseph Foran (8-3). Start time: 3:45 p.m.
Baseball (3-6; 1-3 in Housatonic Division)
The Rams visit Hamden (3-7) at 3:45 p.m.
Girls' Lacrosse (7-1)
Cheshire, winners of six straight, host Branford (3-4) at 7 p.m. CHS earned a 18-8 road win on April 11.
