Dupont Scores Five Times In Win Over North Haven

Cheshire High School boys' lacrosse (2-3) beat North Haven (1-4) 13-9. Seniors Tom Dupont (five goals) and John Klemenz (hat trick) totaled eight goals, adding two assists each. Junior Matt Rougeot had two goals and an assist. Senior Chris Trasacco (three assists), junior Matt Samuelson (assist), and sophomore Matt Blois (assist) supplied goals. Senior Erik Pierson and sophomore Jack Cunningham assisted goals.
Junior goalkeeper Jared Lawson provided 20 saves.
CHS visits Xavier on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Softball (4-3; 1-1 in Housatonic Division)
The Lady Rams lost 5-3 against Sacred Heart Academy (4-3). Senior Nicole D'Amato gave up six hits and five walks, firing seven strikeouts. Cheshire recorded their runs in the first two innings. Junior Bryanna McIntosh added a single and triple, scoring, and adding an RBI. Sophomore Maggie O'Reilly contributed a single and came around to score. Senior Kierstyn Bourdeau posted two RBIs.
The Lady Rams host Shelton (2-4; 1-1) at 3:45 p.m.
Boys' Outdoor Track And Field (5-1)
CHS won against host Guilford (121-27), Fairfield Prep (107-38), and Career Magnet (122-23) on Tuesday. Junior Chibueze Njoku claimed shot put (40 feet, one inch) and discus (119 feet, 10 inches), while sophomore Samuel Keaveney captured the 110- (20.8) and 300- meter (49.8) hurdles. Seniors Nick Jakowenko (long jump; 18 feet, nine inches) and Joe Nowak (high jump; five feet, four inches) joined junior David Holtman (pole vault; 10 feet) and Njoku as victors in field events.
CHS faces host Lyman Hall and Hamden on April 23 at 3:45 p.m.
