A Mixville Road resident has been arrested by authorities in Fairfield for allegedly sexually assaulting a student while he was a fencing coach at Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe high schools.
According to information released, John Tejada, 36, is charged with second-degree sexual assault as a result of an incident that occurred last year. The nature of the assault has not been revealed.
Tejada was placed on administrative leave by the Fairfield Board of Education in late February 2012 and he resigned shortly after, according to reports.
He was released on a $150,000 bond. Before his resignation, he had been a coach at the high schools since 2010.
