There are a limited number of slots still available.
There will be a casting orientation weekend April 27 and 28. Actors will be taught songs, dances, and given readings from the show for the audition portion of the weekend. There is no need to prepare anything else. This is a wonderful way to learn more about theatre and be part of a fantastic show!
CYT has a fresh new production team this summer. The director/choreographer, Kyle Reynolds, and music director, Penny Brandt, have worked throughout Connecticut to bring fun, high energy productions to life. They are extremely talented and will bring a new look and style to Cheshire Youth Theatre.
The Cat in the Hat and his friends jump off the page and on to the stage when the Cheshire Youth Theatre presents SEUSSICAL the Musical this Summer from July 25-28. The score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens features musical genres from latin to funk. The story centers on Horton the Elephant, who is protecting the tiny planet of Who and sitting on Mayzie La Bird’s incubating egg. Also featured is Jojo who “thinks” big and letting his imagination run wild thanks to The Cat in the Hat. Mayhem ensues when the Sour Kangaroo and Wickersham Sisters dance their way on to the stage.
Ballads, such as “Alone in the Universe” and “Solla Sole” combine with the fun of floating in McElligot’s pool.
SEUSSICAL the Musical is presented by the Cheshire Performing and Fine Arts Committee in conjunction with the Cheshire Parks and Recreation Department.
