Cheshire High School boys' volleyball ended their 47-match win streak in a 3-0 loss against Oxford, the defending Class M runner-up, on Wednesday. Game scores: 14-25, 18-25, 15-25. Senior Evan Colechia compiled nine digs. Oxford received a combined 22 kills from senior Bob Costigan (12) and junior Nate Seibert (10; five blocks).
CHS visits Amity (3-1) on Friday at 5 p.m.

Girls' Tennis (4-0)
The Lady Rams earned a 5-2 victory at Sheehan. Senior Anna Toscano (6-4, 6-4), junior Nadja Pejovic (3-6, 6-0, 7-5), sophomore Sara Bruce (6-1, 6-0), senior Jamie Andrews (6-3, 6-3), along with the freshmen doubles team of Durga Rathi and Amanda Murray (6-3, 6-4), recorded victories.
Cheshire had four wins total in 2012. The girls host North Haven on Monday at 3:45 p.m.
Softball (4-1; 1-0 in Housatonic Division)
Cheshire surrendered two first-innings to host Sheehan, but roared back to win 8-2 in the Housatonic Division opener. Nicole D'Amato struck out eight and allowed just three hits. Cheshire received three hits, two RBIs, and a run scored from junior Alexa DiLeo. Junior Bryanna McIntosh had three runs scored and a hit. Senior Kierstyn Bourdeau also chipped in a hit and three RBIs.
CHS hosts Sacred Heart Academy on Friday at 4 p.m.
Baseball (1-3; 0-1)
Cheshire gave up five runs in the fifth inning of a 6-2 loss at Shelton (3-2; 1-0). Junior Dan Schock scored both runs from a single and home. He also walked and stole three bases. On the mound, Schock allowed nine hits in four innings. PJ Watson gave up two hits. Like Schock, he had a walk.
Senior Kyle Hodgdon added an RBI. Classmate Kevin Mirando and junior Wes Robertson joined him with a single.
Cheshire travels to Fairfield University on Saturday to play host Fairfield Prep at 10:30 a.m.
Boys' Golf (3-1; 1-1)
Cheshire picked up their first Housatonic win 153-157 against host Shelton at Bronson Country Club. Senior Eric Dietrich was the medalist at 36. CHS received a 38 from both junior Jake Ecke and sophomore Chris Simione. Juniors Ben Kaplan (41) and Tom Arisco (42) followed them.
At the Farms Country Club, the Rams play host Sheehan on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
