The number of race runners for the Naugatuck Savings Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K has been increased due to an overwhelming demand. The race will now allow 3,000 participants to register for this year’s event. The original limit for this year’s race was set at 2,500 participants, however, with the current number of half marathon and 5K registrations already received, the organizers have decided to allow another 500 registrants to enter the race. “Current registrations for this year’s race are over 50% ahead of last year’s record amount of registrations,” said Bill Costello, Race President.
The 2012 Naugatuck Savings Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K was the largest inaugural foot race ever held in Connecticut with over 2,100 participants. The event will again feature a Half Marathon, 5K, Kids Fun Run and a Healthy & Active Living Festival. Race proceeds will benefit a number of local charities including Abilities Without Boundaries, Best Buddies CT, and the Cheshire Lions Club.
