The bubble covering the Cheshire Community Pool has been deemed a total loss by the Town of Cheshire's insurance company.
The company has been inspecting the covering since its collapse in February, and recently it was determined that the rips were too many and too severe to be repaired. The bubble will now be cut up into pieces and thrown away, as local officials need to determine what other damage occurred when the dome collapsed during the February snowstorm.
The pool will remain closed until May when it reopens as a summer facility. Whether or not a new bubble is installed in time for the fall is a decision the Town Council will have to make in the future.
