Cheshire High School boys' swimming nabbed 10th (214 points) in Tuesday's Class L final at Wesleyan University. Freshman Karl Bishop was sixth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:55.19) and 16th for the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.04). Bishop also led off the 400-yard freestyle team (freshman Kyle Shadeck, juniors Pat Morley and Alex Bauer; ninth, 3:30.69). Classmate Michael Goodrich placed seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.85), securing 17th for the 50-yard freestyle (23.14). Goodrich anchored the 200-yard medley team (junior Brian Johnson, Morley, Shadeck; 1:45.08) to eighth place.
Morley (100-yard breaststroke, 10th, 1:04.21; 200-yard freestyle, 19th, 1:55.55) and Shadeck (200-yard individual medley, 11th, 2:07.73; 100-yard butterfly, 16th, 56.62) also swam two individual events. Johnson placed 15th in the 100-yard backstroke (59.74), while Bauer clocked a best time through the 200-yard freestyle (18th, 1:53.76).
