CHS Ice Hockey Drops Another Tight Game

Cheshire High School ice hockey (4-15) lost 2-1 against Conard (7-10-2) at Northford Ice Pavilion. All the scoring came in the third period. Junior Alex Bausch had the tying goal for CHS. Assists came to classmate Jonathan Hauser and senior Jake Nesdale.
Conard seniors Danny Kycia and Zachary Powers had goals and assists. The game-winner from Powers came with 4:12 remaining. Cheshire led 33-22 in shots. Junior Joey Solla posted 20 saves. Conard senior Charlie Fisher made 32.
The Rams return to Northford tomorrow for the season finale against host Daniel Hand (10-5-2) at 4 p.m.
Remainder of Tuesday's varsity action:
CHS races Branford, Fairfield Prep, Glastonbury, and Southington at Mount Southington. Start time is 4:45 p.m.
Hamden hosts the Southern Connecticut Conference final at 5 p.m.
Girls' Basketball (22nd seed; 9-11)
The Lady Rams visit Darien (11th; 15-5) for the Class LL First Round at 6 p.m.
