On Wednesday, Cheshire High School boys' swim and dive (8-4) beat Daniel Hand 101-83 for their third straight win. Freshman Kyle Shadeck came away victorious in the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.1) and 100-yard butterfly (57.07). Classmates Karl Bishop (500-yard freestyle, 5:10.61), Michael Goodrich (100-yard breaststroke, 1:08.48), and Matt D'Andrea (diving, 148.3), along with junior Pat Morley (200-yard freestyle, 2:00.24), also claimed events. Bishop also contributed to another first place in the 200-yard medley relay (juniors Brian Johnson and Jonathan Jin Qian and Alex Bauer; 1:52.38).
Tuesday's meet against host Xavier will start 7 p.m. at Wesleyan University.
Boys' Basketball (8-8; 5-2 in Housatonic Division)
Wilby senior Walter Wright netted 20 of his game-high 37 points in the fourth quarter, keying an 88-76 victory at CHS. Cheshire was led by senior Eric Dietrich, who hit six three-pointers among his 24 points, in their fourth straight loss. Senior Erik Pettit and junior Collin Jordan contributed 14 points. Senior Tim Covel chipped in 13 points, his best total for the Rams. Sophomore Andrew Yamin had six points. Juniors Jonathan Rizzo and Reid Duglenski supplied three and two points, respectively.
Friday's Housatonic finale against Lyman Hall (1-15; 0-7) starts at 7 p.m. Cheshire earned a 56-48 win on Jan. 18.
Cheshire dropped the regular season finale 49-17 against Joseph Foran. Seniors Josh Hunihan (160 pounds; 5-3) and Billy Janes (195; pin), along with juniors Lucas Swan (126; 10-6) and Jake Cervero (132; 15-0), recorded victories.Tim Homan (captain), Dan Massucci (captain), Steve Bergeron, Tyler Denney, Jason Engelhard, Hunihan, Janes, Dan Mayer, Joe Mongillo, Carlo Troiano, Kyle Wood, and Jeff Petit (Sheehan Independent wrestler) were recognized seniors!
The Southern Connecticut Conference Junior Varsity (Friday, 4 p.m.) and Varsity (Saturday, 9 a.m.) will be hosted by Shelton.

Girls' Ice Hockey (9-8)
Amity/Cheshire/North Haven Co-Op won 6-2 at West Haven. They visit Hamden on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Hamden won 7-4 on Jan. 9 at West Haven.

CHS boys' (6-3) and girls' (2-5) skiing hosts Berlin, Darien, Farmington, and Lauralton Hall at Mount Southington. Start time is 4:45 p.m.
