Cheshire High School girls' basketball (9-10) lost for the second time 49-39 against Amity (12-6) on Senior Night. The Spartans started with a 16-1 lead, but Cheshire came back to trail by eight (29-21) at halftime. Cheshire and Amity are co-Housatonic Division Champions (5-3). It is the third straight year for the Lady Rams and Amity's first crown since 1999.
Senior Emma Gorham and junior Bryanna McIntosh had 10 points. Senior Molly Jalbert scored six and sophomore Sara Como supplied five. Junior Missy Bailey and senior Ariel Greene scored three. Junior Lily Dolyak chipped in two points.
Cheshire recognized Lauren Como, Gorham, Jalbert, and Greene before the tip-off. The Lady Rams wore pink warm-ups in honor of National Coaches vs. Cancer. They raised money for the American Cancer Society.
Cheshire ends the regular season with Monday's visit to Daniel Hand (11-7) at 7 p.m. CHS won the Dec. 7 opener 53-43.
