Cheshire High School boys' swim and dive (6-4) collected a 98-78 win at Hamden, ending a string of four straight losses. Freshman diver Matt D'Andrea captured first place (138.9). Freshman Kyle Shadeck took the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.6) and 100-yard butterfly (58.2). He added another victory with his 200-yard medley relay (juniors Brian Johnson and Pat Morley, freshman Michael Goodrich; 1:53.02). Classmate Karl Bishop (500-yard freestyle, 5:09.7) and Goodrich (50-yard freestyle, 24.82) were individual winning swimmers. They also teamed up in the 200-yard freestyle relay (Johnson, freshman Matt Pinciaro; 1:43.21).
The Rams host Naugatuck on Friday at 7 p.m.

Branford won the last seven weight classes of a 48-21 home win over the Rams. Seniors Dan Massucci (138 pounds; 9-4), Steve Bergeron (145; 4-0), Billy Janes (182; 12-4), Josh Hunihan (160; 21-6), along with junior Gabe Vega (170; pin), added victories.
Cheshire wrestles host Guilford combined with Glastonbury and Simsbury on Saturday at 10 a.m.
