Cheshire High School boys' basketball (8-4; 5-1 in Housatonic Division) won their fifth straight 50-43 against Amity (10-3; 4-1) on Friday. Cheshire takes the division lead with Amity's first Housatonic loss. Cheshire led 26-11 at halftime, but Amity out-scored them 15-5 in the third quarter. Senior Eric Dietrich hit 10-12 of free throw, finishing with a game-high 20 points. Junior Collin Jordan chipped in eight points. Senior Erik Pettit and junior Tyler Post contributed seven. CHS missed just four free throws (15 of 19).
Cheshire visits Xavier (8-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Rams beat them 71-66 on Dec. 18.

Girls' Basketball (8-7; 4-2)
Cheshire beat Shelton (5-9; 1-5) 54-44 for the second time. They had a 28-17 advantage at the break. Junior Missy Bailey (16), senior Lauren Como (14), and junior Bryanna McIntosh (13) had double-figure points.
The Lady Rams travel to Sheehan (7-6; 3-2) on Monday at 7 p.m. Sheehan won 57-47 on Jan. 11 in Cheshire.

Amity/Cheshire/North Haven Co-Op hosts Notre Dame-Fairfield at West Haven. Start time is 9:30 a.m.
The Rams compete in the Platt Duels at 10 a.m.
