Cheshire ice cream lovers were given a jolt this week when a "For Lease" sign popped up in front of long-time ice cream parlor Sweet Claude's.
The location of the sign appeared to signal that the business was on its way out and would potential not open for its 26th season.
However, Sweet Claude's took to social media on Thursday to clear up the problem, posting on Facebook that the ice cream parlor would indeed be open when March rolls around.
The company wrote the following on their Facebook page:
"Just to put the facts out there to the Claudes faithful. Yes there is a "for lease" sign on the front yard of Sweet Claude's- but it forgot to read "Building In Rear" It seems somebody likes to cause mass panic. See everyone March 15th for season #26!!!"
That elicited a lot of responses from happy customers, like Karla Russo Natale who commented "Thank goodness! I was worried."
The "For Lease" sign is actually for Bovano of Cheshire, which is located in the rear of the building.
