Cheshire High School boys' basketball (5-4; 3-1 in Housatonic Division) earned a 56-48 victory at Lyman Hall (1-10; 0-4) on Friday. Cheshire held onto a 20-18 lead at halftime. Junior Collin Jordan (14) and sophomore Andrew Yamin (eight) were top point scorers.
The Rams return on Saturday to host Joseph Foran at 6 p.m.
Girls' Basketball (6-7; 2-2)
The Lady Rams lost 48-40 at Amity (9-3; 3-1). Amity scored 23 of the 32 points in the fourth quarter. Senior Lauren Como (13 points) and junior Missy Bailey (10) led the offense. They sank a trio of three-pointers.
Cheshire hosts Lyman Hall (7-5; 2-2) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. CHS defeated the host Trojans 50-40 on Jan. 4.
Boys' Swim And Dive (5-3)
Cheshire fell to Sacred Heart (8-1) 96-90 and unbeaten Brookfield (9-0) 127-59. Junior Patrick Morley secured second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:30.22) and 400-yard freestyle relay (freshman Karl Bishop, junior Alex Bauer, freshman Kyle Shadeck). Junior Brian Johnson added a runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.21).

The Rams host eight-time defending Southern Connecticut Conference Champion Fairfield Prep (5-0) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Ice Hockey (0-9)
Cheshire lost 9-1 against state number one Fairfield Prep (10-0) at Northford Ice Pavilion. CHS trailed 9-0 until junior Chris Stevens added a goal with 3:07 remaining. Junior Jonathan Hauser supplied an assist. Cheshire ended with a 47-10 disadvantage in shots. Seniors Scott Romano (26 saves) and Jack Naramore (12) both played in goal.
The Rams host Tri-Town on Monday at Wesleyan University. Start time is 6:15 p.m.
