CHS Boys' Basketball Starts Fast In Win Over Shelton

Cheshire High School boys' basketball (4-4; 2-1 in Housatonic Division) beat Shelton (5-5; 1-2) 77-63. CHS led 11-0 to open the game. Senior Eric Dietrich (24 points) and junior Jon Rizzo had personal-bests for points. Senior Erik Pettit added 14 and junior Collin Jordan chipped in nine points.
The Rams visit Lyman Hall (1-8; 0-3) on Friday at 7 p.m.
Boys' Swim and Dive (5-1)
CHS lost for the first time against host Amity (6-0) 96-81 at Orange Community Center Pool. Freshman Kyle Shadeck claimed the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.81) and added another first place with his 400-yard freestyle team (classmates Karl Bishop, Alexander Cheruk, Matt Pinciaro; 3:47.55). Freshmen Sal DeLucia topped diving (127.85) and classmate Michael Goodrich took first for the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.06).
Cheshire hosts Brookfield and Sacred Heart on Friday at 7 p.m.
