Boys' Swim And Dive Remains Unbeaten, CHS Basketball Falls Short

Cheshire High School boys' swim and dive improved to 5-0 with a 100-75 victory on Friday at West Haven. Kyle Shadeck swept the 200- (1:57.18) and 500-yard (5:23.2) freestyles. He also swam to another first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (freshmen Karl Bishop and Michael Goodrich, junior Brian Johnson; 1:42.31). After starting with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay (juniors Pat Morley and Alex Bauer, Goodrich; 1:55.61), Johnson sprinted to take the 50-yard freestyle (25.34). Morley (100-yard butterfly, 1:07.43), Bishop (100-yard freestyle, 55.48), and freshman diver Matt D’Andrea (140.00) recorded additional victories.
Cheshire faces host Amity on Tuesday at the Orange Community Center Pool. Start time is 7:30 p.m.
Girls' Basketball (6-5; 2-1 in Housatonic Division)
The Lady Rams lost their first divisional game 57-47 against Sheehan (5-4; 1-1). The Titans netted all of their fourth-quarter points at the free throw line (23-26). They finished 31 for 42 compared to eight for 12 for Cheshire. Junior Bryanna McIntosh scored a career-high 12 points to join classmate Missy Bailey. Senior Emma Gorham tied Bailey with six rebounds.
Senior Lauren Como had eight points and seven rebounds. CHS got six points from junior Lily Dolyak and sophomore Sara Como. Sophomore Kya O'Donnell and senior Molly Jalbert totaled three points.
The Lady Rams host defending Southern Connecticut Conference Champion Career (7-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

At Wilbur Cross (8-1), Cheshire lost 61-54.
They host Shelton (5-4; 1-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Rams visit East Haven on Saturday at 10 a.m.
