Cheshire High School girls' basketball (6-3; 2-0 in Housatonic Division) extended their win streak to three games by winning 48-31 at Hillhouse (2-6). Cheshire scored 19 of the 21 points of the third quarter to establish a 40-16 advantage. Senior Lauren Como (12 points) and junior Lily Dolyak (career-high 11) led the scoring. Senior Molly Jalbert had 13 rebounds (personal-best) and six points. Junior Missy Bailey had seven points.
The Lady Rams visit Sacred Heart Academy (5-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. SHA won 59-52 on Dec. 13 at CHS.
Boys' Swim and Dive (4-0)
Cheshire defeated Notre Dame-West Haven (5-1) 98-88 and Kennedy 98-76. Freshman Karl Bishop was first in the 200- (1:58.81) and 500-yard (5:09.68) freestyles, along with the 400-yard freestyle relay (freshmen Kyle Shadeck and Alex Cheruk, junior Brian Johnson; 3:47.97). Shadeck took the 100-yard butterfly (57.04) and added another first victory with his 200-yard medley squad (Johnson, junior Pat Morley, freshman Michael Goodrich; 1:54.00). Johnson (100-yard backstroke, 1:02.05) and classmate Jonathan Jin Qian (100-yard breaststroke, 1:09.91) were also victorious.
Cheshire visits West Haven on Friday at 3:45 p.m.
