At Quinnipiac University's TD Bank Sports Center, Cheshire High School ice hockey (0-7) lost 5-1 against Wethersfield (2-4). The Rams evened the game 1-1 when senior Sean Richard scored (power play) with 2:10 left in the first period. Assists went to senior Jake Nesdale and junior Chris Stevens.
Wethersfield senior Pat Dowd (two goals) deposited the game-winner with 1:42 remaining in the second period. The Eagles tacked on three more third-period goals, including one on an empty net. Cheshire had 32 shots compared to 24 for Wethersfield. In his first start, junior goalkeeper Joey Solla had 18 saves.
