AWB Plans Several Unique Programs For Clients

January 2, 2013 by Special To The ...

Abilities Without Boundaries is beginning 2013 with an eye on promoting the abilities of their clients. To do that, the group will be sponsoring several programs in the upcoming year. A few of them follow below:

The AWB Woodworking Project:
AWB's Executive Director, Charlie Conway, is assisting the wood cutting and bundling group in taking their work to the next level. Clients will have the unique opportunity to learn how to carve items such as pens and bowls out of various types of wood. Following a series of workshops, clients will be able to sell their creations via our very own AWB Etsy Shop online. Stay tuned at under AWBProducts.

The AWB Dog Biscuit Program:
AWB is launching the revival of their dog biscuit program. Clients bake and package treats for everyone's favorite furry friends at their very own kitchen facilities. In addition to coming up with various flavors, packaging, and sizes for the treats, AWB is working to identify a number of business partners throughout central Connecticut in which to distribute. To give the treats a try, call (203) 272-5607.

AWB's Summer Camp:
As AWB assesses the vast services needed for people with disabilities, they have not been able to overlook the lack of recreational opportunities for youth with disabilities during summer breaks from school. The goal is to launch a four-week trial camp in this summer packed with crafts, sports, and trips specifically designed for this group. To learn how you can get involved, call (203) 272-5607.
