Girls' Basketball Has Big Second Half In Berlin, Bailey Earns All-Tournament

In the Berlin Holiday Tournament consolation, Cheshire High School girls' basketball (4-3; 1-0 in Housatonic Division) beat Fitch (3-6) 42-25. The score was tied 13-13 at halftime before the Rams scored 20 of the 25 points in the third quarter. Junior Missy Bailey (Tournament Team) netted 17 points after sitting out Friday's game. Senior Emma Gorham and sophomore Sara Como had seven points. Junior Lily Dolyak and sophomore Jill Howard posted four. Sophomore Kya O'Donnell, receiving her first start, added three.
Cheshire visits Lyman Hall (5-2; 1-0) on Friday at 7 p.m.
Ice Hockey (0-6)
Cheshire has lost five games by a single goal, including this morning 3-2 against South Windsor (2-4) at West Haven. The Bobcats took a 3-0 lead in the first period. Junior Luke Vendetto scored twice during the second. Sophomore Ben Klanica (two) and senior Tom Dupont had assists. Senior goalkeeper Scott Romano compiled 22 saves. Cheshire fired 38 shots.
The Rams host Wethersfield (1-4) on Wednesday at Quinnipiac University's TD Bank Sports Center. Start time is 5 p.m.
