Usually, Cheshire's Lights of Hope is held in November as a way to raise funds for local charities and continue encouraging the sense of community the event was designed to engendered when it was organized so many years ago.
Now, luminaries will be lighting up homes around town once again, this time to help those affected by the tragic mass shootings in Newtown.
Cheshire's Lights of Hope organizers have announced that luminaries are currently on sale at different businesses throughout Cheshire, including R.W. Hine Hardware, Timberline, and PAWS Pet Resort. A kit of 10 luminaries are $12 each and the group is hoping people will light up their homes on Christmas Eve in support of the cause. All proceeds raised through this endeavor will go towards benefiting the survivors of the attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
