After being delayed a month, the Town Council plans to vote on the contract signed between the Board of Education and the Union representing Cheshire teachers tonight.
Last month, the Council had planned to discuss the contract but could not vote on the matter since the document had yet to be filed with the Town Clerk. Tonight, at 7:30 p.m., the Council is expected to vote on the matter as well as a few other agenda items.
Outside of the teachers' contract, the Town Council will also be focusing on a few grants and building projects, including roof work at Cheshire High School and the Cheshire Community Pool dehumidification project.
Before the Council gets to normal business, it will recognize long-time resident and public servant Dick Miller, who turns 100 years old next month. Cheshire's Lights of Hope will also be given a proclamation for its fundraising efforts.
The Town Council meets tonight, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Cheshire Town Hall.
The meeting is open to the public.
