CJF Players To Compete In National Tournament

November 29, 2012 by Greg Lederer

Cheshire Junior Football will be represented in Saturday's Second Annual Football University National Championship, run through All-American Games and The USA Army National Combine and Football University. Sixth grader Antonio Giano, a member of CT South, faces a team from New York at Brunswick Academy in Greenwich. Start time is 8 a.m.
Seventh graders Jack Raba, David Arcesi, Cameron Gotowala, Michael Jeffrey, and Bryce Levenbuski compete for CT North, who visits Westwood, Mass. to play Rhode Island at 3 p.m. Assistant John Raba coached Raba, Arcesi, Gotowala, and Jeffrey on the CJF 'B' team. Levenbuski played for the 'A' squad.
The teams will either play in the winner's or loser's bracket on Sunday. Sixth to eighth graders from around the country play for 190 teams in this tournament, the biggest youth football event nationally. The title games are Jan. 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
