In their third straight Class LL semifinal appearance, Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (second seed; 22-1) won their ninth straight 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 16-25, 15-13) against Fairfield Ludlowe (third; 19-2) at Joseph Foran. Cheshire won the final five points on service of junior Eryn Dorsey.
Senior Amanda Palladino (18 kills) evened her personal-best with 12 blocks! Classmate Lisa Walle (eight kills, seven digs) and sophomore Sarah Rodgers (22 assists, three kills) were also stat leaders.
Cheshire meets Darien (top; 21-0) in Saturday's Final at East Haven. Start time is 7 p.m. Darien came back to beat Southington (12th; 17-5) 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23) Thursday's second semifinal.
