Cheshire High School field hockey (second seed; 18-2) won their sixth straight 3-1 against William Hall (15th; 9-7-2) in Saturday's Class L First Round. Juniors Michelle Federico and Olivia Larson had goal and assist. Senior Miranda Garcia added a goal. Junior Emma Farrel chipped in two assists. Sophomore Mikayla Crieger posted an assist. Senior Lauren Fountain made three saves.

Girls' Volleyball (second; 20-1)
The Lady Rams extended their win streak to seven, sweeping 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-11) Westhill (15th; 12-9) in the Class LL Second Round. Seniors Amanda Palladino (17 kills, personal-best 12 blocks) and Lisa Walle (12 kills, four digs), and sophomore Sarah Rodgers (26 assists, four digs) were standouts.
Cheshire hosts Staples (10th; 15-4) in Tuesday's quarterfinal at 7 p.m.
Girls' Soccer (seventh; 12-4-2)
CHS came up short 1-0 against New Milford (26th; 6-8-2). In the 75th minute, New Milford junior Sierra Grazia put in the game-winner.

Girls' Cross Country (19th; 507 points)
Cheshire traveled to Cumberland, ME for the New England Championship. Seniors Kathleen Kalbian (74th, 20:47.21) and Hannah Purtell (101st, 21:07.55), sophomore Natalie Wickenheisser (171st, 21:57.18), juniors Kimmi Grove (178th, 22:01.41) and Erin Strahley (220th, 22:51.48), senior Julie Trifone (234th, 23:16.5), and sophomore Kendra Brown (243rd, 23:36.1) comprised the team.
Kalbian, Purtell, and Trifone are among girls graduating from the program.
The Lady Rams swam in Class LL qualifying at East Hartford. Wednesday's Final starts 7 p.m. at Wesleyan University.
Sophomore Erin Mostoller and junior Theresa Cashore will dive on Monday at Middletown. Start time is 5:30 p.m.
