Monday's SCC Schedule

Cheshire High School has three Southern Connecticut Conference contests tonight. Capsules are below:
Field Hockey (15-2; SCC regular season champion at 10-0)
CHS (top seed) hosts Branford (fourth; 10-3-3-1) in Monday's semifinals at 5 p.m. Cheshire beat Sacred Heart Academy (eighth; 3-12-1-1) again 5-0 in Saturday's quarterfinal, while Branford defeated Hamden (fifth; 11-5-1) 2-1. The Lady Rams knocked off Branford on Sept. 14 (3-1) and Oct. 22 (2-0).
Daniel Hand (second; 12-4-1) and Guilford (third; 9-5-3) meet in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. Hand was a 5-0 winner over Mercy (seventh; 6-9-1) and Guilford shut out Amity (sixth; 4-8-4) 7-0.
Tuesday's Final is 6 p.m. at CHS. Cheshire beat host Guilford 2-1 (overtime) for their first tournament title last year!
Girls’ Volleyball (18-1; Housatonic Division Champion at 7-1)
Top-seeded Cheshire seeks their sixth straight win in Monday's semifinal at 6 p.m. CHS plays Sacred Heart Academy (fourth; 15-4), who held off Joseph Foran (fifth; 13-6) 3-2 (25-14, 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 16-14) on Friday. Cheshire is the defending champion (eight titles; SCC record). With a win on Monday, they would reach the Final for the 16th time in 17 years! Wednesday’s Final starts 6 p.m. at North Haven.
The Lady Rams eliminated Sheehan (eighth; 12-8) 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-16) in Thursday's quarterfinal.

Girls’ Swim and Dive (9-1 in dual meets)
Cheshire swimmers visit Southern Connecticut State University for the Final at 7 p.m. Warm-up starts at 6 p.m. Since the trials at Cheshire Community Pool were canceled, there will be 32 swimmers per event.
The start time was originally 6 p.m., but it was pushed back so that diving could finish at Hamden. Junior Theresa Cashore and sophomore Erin Mostoller will compete, starting at 4:30 p.m. That warm-up is 3 p.m.
CHS (835.5 points) finished second to Amity (882.5) last year.
