Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (top seed; 18-1) defeated Sheehan (eighth; 12-8) 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-16) in the Southern Connecticut Conference quarterfinals. Cheshire has won all three meetings, this one representing their fifth victory in a row. Senior captains Amanda Palladino (14 kills, five blocks) and Meredith Bryden (seven kills, three aces), along with sophomores Sarah Rodgers (22 assists, six digs) and Maria Buzzelli (nine digs), led the team.
Cheshire hosts Monday's semifinals (6 p.m.) against the winner of tomorrow's match between Joseph Foran (fifth; 13-5) and host Sacred Heart Academy (fourth; 14-4) at 4 p.m.
Saturday's First Round. Cheshire beat the Titans on Sept. 21 (3-0) and Oct. 10 (3-1).
