Cancellations And Closures Connected To Hurricane Sandy

October 29, 2012 by John Rook

The Town of Cheshire has announced that the Cheshire Community Pool will be closed today due to Hurricane Sandy. Also, all Town-related activities and evening meetings have been canceled for tonight as well.
The effects of Hurricane Sandy are already being felt in Connecticut and forecasts suggest that the weather will continue to deteriorate over the course of the day, with wind gusts reaching as high as possibly 70 miles per hour in the Cheshire area.
Currently, Connecticut Light and Power is reporting that there are over 2,000 power outages in the state already and it is expected that wide spread outages will be caused by the storm before it begins to weaken sometime on Tuesday.
