Cheshire High School cross country ran in the Class LL Championship at Wickham Park in Manchester. The Lady Rams were fourth (148 points), with Ridgefield winning the race (55). Senior Kathleen Kalbian (seventh, 19:58), junior Kimmi Grove (13th, 20:27), sophomore Natalie Wickenheisser (24th, 21:02), senior Hannah Purtell (32nd, 21:15), sophomore Kendra Brown (75th, 22:16), senior Julie Trifone (76th, 22:19), and sophomore Elizabeth Cunningham (85th, 22:32) comprised the team.
Lady Rams await to see if they have qualified for the State Open next Friday at 2 p.m.
Boys came in 10th (266) this morning. Junior Lucas Marcouiller (32nd, 17:16), senior Sagar Nakrani (36th, 17:18), junior Trey Phillips (59th, 17:41), sophomore Mark Fusco (69th, 17:49), senior Sam Brown (70th, 17:49), sophomore Russell Adam (77th, 17:54), and junior Ben Kaplan (102nd, 18:14) all raced. Danbury was first (94).
Marcouiller and Nakrani have earned their first trips to the State Open.
Girls' Volleyball (17-1; Housatonic Division Champion at 7-1)
The Lady Rams (top seed) host Sheehan (eighth; 12-7) in Tuesday's Southern Connecticut Conference quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Sheehan beat Lyman Hall (ninth; 11-8) 3-2 (18-25, 26-24, 25-17, 24-26, 15-13) in today's First Round. Cheshire beat the Titans on Sept. 21 (3-0) and Oct. 10 (3-1).
