Lady Rams Fall To Amity In Orange

Cheshire High School girls’ swim and dive (9-1) took their first loss 96-88 against unbeaten host Amity (11-0) last night at the Orange Community Center Pool. Amity defends their Southern Connecticut Conference regular season title.
Sophomore Sara Barlok won the 50-yard freestyle (25.69) and 100-yard backstroke (1:01.79), while classmate Lindsay Smalec claimed the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.79) in the dual meet finale.
Cheshire Community Pool hosts the SCC qualifier on Monday at 4 p.m.
Wednesday’s regular season finales include:
Field Hockey (13-2; SCC Champion at 9-0)
Cheshire travels to Lyman Hall (5-7-2-1) at 3:45 p.m.
Girls’ Soccer (11-2-2; Housatonic Division Champion at 6-0-2)
The Lady Rams host Guilford (6-7-2) at Alumni Field. Senior Night starts at 6 p.m., but the presentation begins at 4:45 p.m. Honorees include: Kelsie Carlette (captain), Jenna Hart (captain), Lauren Como, Lizzie Jentzen, Claudia Martinez, Nicole Stauffer.
Cheshire won the Sept. 11 opener 3-1 in Guilford.
Girls’ Volleyball (16-1; Housatonic Champion at 7-1)
Cheshire visits Branford (13-4) at 6 p.m. CHS won their home opener 3-2 on Sept. 14.
Boys’ Soccer (6-5-4; 3-2-3)
The Rams travel to North Haven (5-9-1) at 6:30 p.m. Cheshire won the Sept. 11 opener 4-2.
