Cheshire High School girls' soccer ended the Housatonic Division schedule unbeaten (6-0-2; 11-1-2) with yesterday's 2-0 victory at Lyman Hall. Cheshire, out-shooting Lyman Hall 14-5, used goals from seniors Lauren Como and Nicole Stauffer to take a 2-0 lead by halftime. Seniors Kelsie Carlette and Claudia Martinez assisted those goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Carolyn Giusti (two saves) earned the shutout in her first start.
The Lady Rams visit Hamden (8-3-2) on Monday at 6 p.m. Hamden is the only team to beat them 1-0 on Sept. 19.
Boys' Soccer (5-5-4; 3-2-3)
Cheshire played their second tie with Shelton (6-4-4; 3-1-4) 0-0. Senior goalkeeper Evan Colechia came away with eight saves. Alex Bauer (captain), Nick Berardi (captain), Sam Donahue (captains), Devin Lerner (captain), Matt Mueller (captain), Ross Caterino, Colechia, Ben Gallo, Billy Janes, Rob McNabb, and Matt Mendonca were honorees on Senior Night.
CHS hosts Xavier (10-2-2) on Monday at 6 p.m. Xavier earned a 3-0 shutout on Sept. 20 in Portland.
