Jonathan Dandrow, a native of Cheshire, is shown with his mother, Jeanne, at MS Keys To A Cure, a classical benefit concert held at Cheshire Academy Thursday, Oct. 11. The event, which starred famed concert pianist Polina Bespalko from Russia, was organized by Dandrow in honor of his mother, who battles multiple sclerosis. Dandrow, 23, an award winning pianist himself, also performed.
Since her diagnosis two years ago, Jeanne has also been active raising awareness and funds to support the cause. She walks annually at Walk MS, held each April at Cheshire High School. MS Keys To A Cure attracted more than 120 guests and raised over $2,500. Proceeds benefit the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, and those it serves. The event MS Keys To A Cure is an example of MS Do It Yourself Fundraising.
