CHS Girls' Volleyball Wins Battle Of Unbeatens

Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (8-0; 3-0 in Housatonic Division) stayed unbeaten by winning at Mercy (7-1) 3-2. Game scores were 21-25, 25-18, 25-10, 21-25, 15-7. Senior Lisa Walle (13 kills; four digs), sophomores Sarah Rodgers (34 assists) and Maria Buzzelli (28 digs), had their best totals. Senior Amanda Palladino chipped in 12 kills and four digs.
The Lady Rams visit Shelton (3-4; 0-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Girls' Soccer (5-1-1; 2-0-1)
Junior goalkeeper Natalie Reynolds had six saves, as Cheshire tied host Shelton (5-0-2; 2-0-2) 0-0.
Cheshire hosts Lyman Hall (2-3-1; 0-2) on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Boys' Soccer (2-4-1; 1-2)
Cheshire lost 2-0 against Amity (5-1; 1-1). Senior goalkeeper Evan Colechia had four saves. Amity junior Griffin Volta had seven. In scoring, Amity junior Justyn Broderick and senior Joseph Guerra were assisted by sophomore Jeremy Conn.
In last Friday's 3-2 loss at Branford (3-1-2), senior Matt Mueller and freshman Jake Goldstein had goals. Senior Nick Berardi chipped in two assists. Colechia, making his first varsity appearance, recorded five saves.
The Rams visit Shelton (4-2-1; 2-0-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The rivals shared the Housatonic crown last fall.
