Mark your calendars for the second meeting of the Cheshire Art League’s 2012-2013 season to be held on Wednesday Oct. 3, at the Cheshire Senior Center 240 Maple Ave. There will be a time for brief announcements at 6:30 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a Watercolor Demonstration by guest artist Jay Babina.
Jay is a painter with 40 years’ experience as well as a practicing graphic designer & Illustrator. He works in watercolor, acrylic, and oil as well as various drawing mediums. Currently involved in various art societies throughout Connecticut, he approaches his art with passion
“My painting takes me both outside painting plein air and inside studio works. My interest varies from the scenic beauty I encounter in my travels to subjects that I seek out because of some personal interest in a place or the colors and shadows that I encounter. I paint for my involvement in subjects and never consider salability. I consider it an honor if somebody likes what I do enough to want it in their home. My style and outlook on the way I work is ever-evolving and is often dictated by the subject.”
The demonstration is free and the public is encouraged to attend. We welcome anyone interested in the arts to come and enjoy the evening. For more information, contact Publicity Chair Karen Dwyer at (203) 389-8419, or visit our website at www.cheshireartleague.com
