Grab A Dog And Make Some Friends At Cub Scout Hot Dog Roast

September 14, 2012 by Special To The ...

Is your son interested in joining a local Scout troop? If so, you will want to attend an exciting event planned for next week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, Cub Scout Pack 96 from Chapman School will hold its annual Hot Dog Roast and Membership Drive at the Cheshire Park picnic pavilion. The Roast starts at 6 p.m. They will also have a kickball game where perspective Scouts can meet the current ones.
The Hot Dog Roast is free of charge to current members, their families, and to prospective members and their families. Boys who will be in grades 1 through 5 next year are invited to come to the roast to find out more about cub scouting.
During the course of the year, the pack sponsors many activities such as camping trips, fishing derbies, pinewood derby, and outdoor hikes. This coming spring, the boys will have an overnight sleepover trip at the U.S.S. Salem in Massachusetts. The boys learn many life skills such as safety, citizenship, charity, and respect for the outdoors.
If you would like to join but are unable to attend, call Joe Hughes at (203) 808-1980 or email
