Severe Thunderstorms, Tornado Threaten Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of Litchfield, Fairfield, Hartford, Middlesex, and New Haven counties until 9 p.m. Saturday evening.
There were numerous unconfirmed reports this morning of tornados touching down in the New York City area and a string of severe thunderstorms has been moving north towards Connecticut.
That, combined with a cold front, is expected to produce dangerous weather in the state, with heavy rain, wind, thunder, hail, and the potential for a tornado.
