Anderson, Marcucilli Pick Up First Win At SCSU

Freshman forward Lauren Anderson and defensive back Anna Marcucilli, 2012 graduates of Cheshire High School, helped Southern Connecticut State University field hockey (1-2) outlast host Assumption College (0-3) 4-3 for their first win tonight. Junior Sarah Cebry broke a 3-3 tie with 3:53 left, deciding the Northeast-10 Conference opener. Assumption led 1-0 and 2-1, however SCSU rallied to take a 3-2 lead. Anderson picked up her career point by assisting the third goal from senior Laurie Cockerline.
The Owls, coached by Kelley Frassinelli, visit Long Island University-Post on Thursday at 4 p.m.
