Dr. William Petit has become known as the sole survivor of the fatal Cheshire home invasion from July of 2007 that took the life of his wife and two daughters.
Now, more than five years removed from that event, Petit has remarried.
Petit married Christine Paluf on August 5 in West Hartford. Paluf, 34, a freelance photographer and Petit, 55, met after the murder of his family and struck up a relationship as the years progressed. The ceremony was attended by Cindy Hawke-Renn, the sister of Petit's wife Jennifer Hawke-Petit who, along with his daughters Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, were murdered on July 23, 2007. There was also a special blessing read at the ceremony, which had been submitted by Hawke-Petit's father Rev. Richard Hawke.
