Cheshire’s popular First Congregational Church annual Strawberry Festival will be held for the 75th time today from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the First Congregational Church green off of Church Drive.
In addition to hundreds of pounds of fresh strawberry shortcake and other food, this year’s festival will feature free performances by musical groups, including the Cheshire Community Band and Bird-N-Boys.
There will also be children’s entertainment, a petting zoo, and inflatable rides, such as Moonbounce.
This year, the church has invited many local crafters and artisans to join them.
Parking is available in the parking lot located behind the church (access from Cornwall Avenue), with an overflow behind Town Hall across the street.
If there is rain, the event will move inside to the church’s Parish Hall.

Also today, stop by and visit the Cheshire Women’s Club who will be on the lawn of the Historical Society, 43 Church Street, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., during the Strawberry Festival.
These women will be selling home made breads and other delights as well as jewelry, including a selection of clip earrings.
