The 2012 Relay For Life kicks off this afternoon, as hundreds of residents will make their way to the Cheshire High School athletic fields behind the school to participate in one of the town's biggest events.
Preparation for the big event is scheduled to begin in the early afternoon, with the annual Kids Care! tent opening at 4 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for around 6 p.m. and activities will take place throughout the night and into early Saturday afternoon.
Also, motorists are reminded that the annual Connecticut Special Olympics Torch Run will be travelling through Cheshire today between the hours of 12 and 3 p.m.
