Cheshire High School boys’ lacrosse (7-9) lost their fourth straight, 15-13 to Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.; 12-5), close the regular season yesterday. Lincoln-Sudbury scored the first seven goals of the game and led 11-4 at intermission. Cheshire battled back to close the deficit to 12-11, before the Warriors gained separation again.
Senior Tyler Violano had a personal-high five goals and classmate Kevin Adams posted four goals, each chipping in an assist. Junior Tom Dupont added two goals and assists apiece. Seniors Dylan Baumgardner and Spencer Hackett added goals. CHS also received assists from Juniors John Klemenz and Chris Trasacco and freshman Matt Blois. Senior Will Devine and sophomore Jared Lawson both played in goal.
The Southern Connecticut Conference Tournament starts tomorrow.
Girls’ Tennis (4-11)
CHS lost at Shelton (9-7), their fifth consecutive loss to end the season. Alex Hirt and Taylor Strange, senior captains with Theresa Fitzpatrick, have qualified for the State Open on June 2 at Yale University.
Fitzpatrick, Erica Larson, Emily Roberts, and Katie Seggerman will graduate with them.
